Theme
A lot will say this is the most important part of the wedding, it definitely excites me looking through wedding theme inspiration. I’d recommend creating some Pinterest boards, it is never too early to start dreaming about your big day! There are so many themes, styles and traditions to consider. It all depends on who you are and what you like. Have a browse through Pinterest, Instagram and even my gallery above.
Location and venue
Ask yourself, what sort of couple are we? Do we want a big reception or do we want to have something more formal? Will the structure of the day put me at ease or will it keep me constantly concerned about the time schedule?
Guests’ arrival and stay. Is the location easy to get to?
Will you celebrate outside, in a manor house, a church, temple? Do you want the ceremony and reception in the same place?
Definitely choose your venue thinking about the time of the year and the likely weather. It’s easy to fall in love with a venue, but then realise it may not work, so consider what you want, when you want it, and if it’s right for you.
The dress code
I would definitely encourage mentioning dress code on your wedding invitations. It ensures your event stays as formal or as casual as you’d like as well as keeping the guests at ease, they will appreciate knowing what attire is expected of them.
Remember, the dress code is most likely to be dependent on the venue.
Catering and menu
You’ll be catering to a roomful of people with very different tastes, don’t only consider your own dietary needs but have a variety of options for everybody. At the same time do think what YOU want and not just what the guests want. It is your big day. Will you set it to your wedding theme, a traditional sit down meal, buffet or food vans?

Budget
It can be easy to be swept away with the idea of having a picture-perfect wedding, but remember to stick to the budget you set yourself! What can you and your partner afford and what is it that you actually want to pay.
How much do you have in savings? How much are you willing to put toward the wedding? Is anyone else helping?
You could consider a max budget and then a max max budget (your official cut off point). Just encase you find your “dream dress'', which may be over budget a little.
Budget per person
When considering your budget and guest list, think about what you want to spend and on who? Would you take your guests (day guests) to a 5* restaurant and treat them to dinner? If yes, then maybe you can spend £100 per person, if not, you might want to think what you would spend or if some people should be evening guests only.
Money as Gifts
Maybe instead of gifts from your family and friends you’d like to receive money towards your honeymoon? Consider putting it as a little note in your RSVPs.
