Are you wondering if you need to find a wedding planner near you, or near your venue. Or even just find a wedding planner in general?
Weddings are an exciting time and often planning them becomes the bride’s duty. Often leading to sleepless nights, countless arguments, and lots of stress.
So why not consider hiring a wedding planner?
A lot of brides will say:
They are expensive
Someone else won’t understand what you want
I can do this myself
Well… why not consider the reasons why you should hire a wedding planner?

Hi, I’m Nehar. Proud owner of Spot on Event and wedding planner for 15 years now. I’ve planned weddings in many different countries and different cultures, for different style of couples. And after 15 years, I can give you many reasons why you should hire a planner. Here’s just a few, key, ones.
Time is the biggest challenge for couples
On the day of your wedding you want to be relaxed, not running around trying to organise suppliers and worrying about everything.
Yes, you probably can allocate this to a family member, but 90% of the time a family member will not have all the experience, and the day won’t run as smoothly as it should. Additionally, you want your family or friends to enjoy the day and be there for you.
In the lead-up to the wedding, the actual planning stage, you don’t want to be spending all evening searching for suppliers and all weekend meeting with them… leave it to the planner.
They keep you on track and on budget
Keeping track of time and your wedding budget are both key aspects of wedding planning. Although you cannot fit everything in last minute or be too late, running out of money is probably not wise too.
Your planner will ensure quotes, payment schedules, bookings and final arrangements are all dealt with so you don’t have to stress about it.
A wedding planner’s biggest asset, the itinerary
All planners are routine orientated. An itinerary is their biggest asset and will create one le
ading up to the wedding and ensure all suppliers are “singing off the same hymn sheet”. This means the coordination of the suppliers on the day is much more efficient and no key moments are missed or delayed.
Yes, there are times when weddings run late, beyond anyone’s control. But a planner will manage the schedule and alter accordingly, communicating this with all suppliers such as caterers and photographer.

Although it is possible for couples to create their own itinerary, without having someone to oversee and keep the suppliers on track, things can go wrong. Where a member of the family or a friend is in-charge of overseeing the itinerary, the lack of experience can mean they may not know what to do when things do fall behind or go wrong.
Additionally, all suppliers need to be communicated with throughout the day, this can become difficult without a planner.
You get Mary Poppins
The experience of a wedding planner often gives them the power of Mary Poppins.
Whether you have a cake that is melting, a floor at the venue or even late or cancelled supplier, they will find a way to fix it. It’s what they do.
Don’t need to spend hour online searching for the “Dream Vision”
It doesn’t matter if you know exactly what you want, you have a vague idea or no idea at all. Your wedding planning will help you define this. I work with couples with various ideas and as their planner and stylist, it is my role to take their ideas and create a magical day out of it. This can be at any point of the wedding planning process.
